So… I’m kind of obsessed with the idea of doing everything on the dollhouse myself (other than things that I know are totally out of the realm of possibility for me – ie. mini lathe work; some metal work; miniature blown glass etc – which I would consider buying). There are a few conundrums that go along with this obsession the biggest to me is:
When it sucks when I do it… and that is the best I can do, do I make do?; Practise (forever) till I get better?; or do I add it to the list of things to buy?Have any of you got this feeling I have, or do you just buy what you want and make what you want? Buying every lovely miniature that is well made and gorgeous is expensive. It’s expensive because it takes a lot of work and time for miniature artisans to get their work to be that oogleworthy in the first place right? Right…
But, I still really want to do ‘everything’ myself (picturing a naughty kid stomping on the ground and having a bit of a tantrum here is entirely appropriate…)
I laughed a little (and cried more recently) over the total amateurish level of Little Top Cottage when I bought it… But will my efforts be less laughable?
